thought it be an idea to link up with other owners to compare silly big dogs antics as well as tempraments etc

never done this blog thing before so please excuse my lack of knowledge on how this works but hopefully you can see what i am trying to do

  1. Hey Silly Big dog! Welcome to the world of blogging! It can be really fun! Thanks for stiopping by Moose's blog! I have noticed from my page stats that a lot of people stumble on my post by searching for labradane. The funny thing is I did not know there was such a thing and just combined the two breed names for my post. Who knew! Your boy is handsome for sure! You should post some more info like what his name is, how he came to be your dog and I would be interested to know his weight and such! WE will look forward to reading about him soon!

i had a lab cross for 14 years before but he passed away last year and my 2 kids started on can we get another dog please after a couple of weeks ,as they do !then i kept on seeing the adverts on telly for the dogs trust which is a fantastic rescue service for stay and unwanted doggies and the following weekend we were their looking only !!!!!! and came away with oscar the following week :)
i loved your video of seeing how far up the shelves in the pantry he could get , brilliant .this dog makes me giggle so much with the little things he does every day mmm just realised i should be putting this in the blog bit i think .....

  3. I hear ya on the "silly big dog" thing. My silly big dog is five months old right now, and he has the look of a yellow lab, but his bone and skeletal structure is identical to a great dane, about 60lbs and larger than a full grown lab. He's a goofy character, very loyal and vocal. I thought that because I would have a part lab, no shoe or furniture would be safe. To our surprise, he didn't fancy shoes as much as our soccer equipment! I'm glad we rescued him from the family who didn't want him. It was pretty clear too because he didn't have any toys, he had a rotten baby tooth and was skin and bones when we got him. Took about two weeks to fatten him up, teach him some stuff, and about two months for him to stop having nighmares...Yeah, NIGHTMARES! I can't imagine what those freaks were doing to this lil' guy.

Mars is a great dog, obedient and loving and I'd get another in a flash! Cheers to your Oscar!

  4. I have rescued what we call a labradane accidently from the local shelter. He was 8 weeks old and was adopted out and returned in 2 weeks and labeled deaf. He is bilaterally deaf and has vision issues due to eyes not forming properly at birth. The vet calls him a mini great dane and thinks he is the result of "lethal white" breeding. He is the best dog. We laugh continually when he's around, he is so funny and comical.

With resuced dogs sometimes you just don't know what breed. Good luck to all!

  5. Hi. I am looking to buy a labradane puppy. We are currently "fostering" a labradane for 2 months. We have fallen in love with her and want a labradane puppy for our family. I haven't been able to find any breeders. Any suggestions? Thank you!

  7. Wow I finally found people who hopped into that crazy boat of big silly dog owning.....I love my bruno and my shadow(although shadow isnt a labradane she is a mix and is a sweetie) I have a delimma which is how I found this site in the first place....My Bruno is Eating some really crazy things.... toothpicks, rubber bracelets, eyeballs from his stuffed toys, kids balls that mysteriesly end up on our side of the fence, and then of course these non food snacks DO NOT AGREE with is poor belly and it comes back one way or the other.....do any of you guys have this problem with your babies? I am at a loss for words and information.... oh man thats another thing some of the gas he gets is down right wrong I mean really is that normal oh man brb..... whew only a mother could love that guy when he is smellin like that...sorry it happens a lot!!!! anyway it was nice to find others in our similar silly dude situation and if ya'll have any idea whats going on in my Brunos silly head can you give me a heads up I love that boy and don't want anything bad to happen to him because he eats odd things. I mean the vet says that it is something his hybrid mix has been known for but if you have a solution or some distraction that would be awesome.. thanks and hope to hear from you brunos mommy

  8. My Beautiful Labradane has eaten everything that should have killed her! Cacti with giant needles, glass when she was just a puppy, a black widow I found her trying to chew!! She has survived all and has a thirst for chewing wood. She is a beaver!! My poor trees! I love her dearly and she is the most loving, intelligent dog. She actually brings me my "at home shoes" when I get home every night. I never trained her to do this. Gem ( that's her name). looks and acts just like Moose. She actually looks at him on the screen of my comp! She can actually see dogs on t.v. in the mirror etc. I love that Labradanes are getting recognized as a great companion. She's my best friend and I'm so happy she survived her puppyhood!

But he is getting better in the last week he has got over his kennel cough which is a huge stress off my mind. But anyways he is a huge lover an constantly wants to play fetch an tug of war with the socks I have yet to take off my feet lol. But overall a fantastic dog I got really lucky with him. An when he does his leaning as its in his great Dane side it just melts my heart. Needless to say I am a proud owner of a labradane
